Thousands of Nigerians Pass Vote Of Confidence on Minister Of Health

Within hours of launching a petition seeking to rally support for the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, thousands of Nigerians across the country signed the petition in favour of the Minister’s continued leadership of the Health Ministry.

This vote of confidence is coming on the heels of a sustained malicious campaign by a disgruntled group masquerading as representatives of certain professional groups allied to health in the country. The group after making unrealistic demands unheard of any where in the world, proceeded beyond the boundaries of decorum and crossed into the murky waters of blackmail in an attempt to influence the FG to remove the Minister from office as a last ditch attempt to achieve their unacceptable demands.

We wish to thank all Nigerians for their support for the Minister against the arm twisting tactics of this disgruntled group.

NMA hereby affirm the resolve of doctors across the country to continue to maintain the provision of quality healthcare services to Nigerians despite the ongoing strike by other health workers.

Reports from across the nation’s hospitals shows clearly that patients are being attended to by doctors at both out-patient and in-patient areas . Furthermore, surgeries as well as radio-diagnostic procedures are being done daily.

I didn’t expect anything less. It will be irresponsible for a minister of such quality to support what is not known to international practice. Nigerian doctors are actually accommodating for accepting a relativity of 1.5:1 as the highest. In the US it is as high as 13:1 for neurosurgeons! Anaesthetic nurse takes about 154k while Anaesthetic doctor takes about 437k!! What is the JOHESU talking about? Let people be proud of themselves and their profession. Congratulations dear HMH, Prof Isaac Folunrosho Adewole. Move on with the good job. Cheers
