    FIRST VICE PRESIDENT LEADS NMA DELEGATION TO PUBLIC HEARING AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.



    The NMA delegation led by the First Vice President, Dr. Rasaaq Adebayo( Prof of cardiology) was at The Public Hearing by the House of Representatives Committee on Health Institutions on Tuesday 12th July, 2021.

    Four bills were heard at the one day public hearing.

    The bills were:

    1. A bill for an Act to establish the Federal Medical Centre, Fufu, Kwara State and Related Matters.

    2. A bill for an Act to establish the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery Otu-Jeremi, Delta State and other matters.

    3. A bill for an Act to Establish the the Federal Medical Centre, Ogoja, Cross River State.

    4. A bill for an Act to Establish the National Hospital Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Other Related Matters.

    Other members of the NMA delegation were Past President, Dr. Omede Idris FNMA, Dr. Saliu Oseni, Deputy Secretary General,NMA and Dr Alikor Chizindu( Prof), Chairman, NMA, Rivers State Branch.

    The hearing was well attended and NMA positions on the above stated bills were submitted and presented.

    The NOC led by our proactive President, Prof(Dr) Innocent AO Ujah FNMA,FNAMed,mni, was appreciated for the support given to the committee/delegation.

    The NMA National Secretariat Staffs were also acknowledged for being proactive in getting the bills and ensuring our memoranda get to the appropriate quarters.
