The Nigerian Medical Association annual general conference and delegates meeting was declared open yesterday by the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
The event which was well attended by over 600 medical doctors from all states of the federation as well as those in diaspora; USA, UK, Germany and many other countries around the world.
The Vice President was the special guest of honour who also represented President Buhari who was unavoidably absent due to his visit to the US president Donald Trump.
The ceremony was chaired by a former Head of stste of Nigeria, Retired General Yakubu Gowon. The President of Senate of Nigeria, Dr Bukola Saraki was a special guest at the event. Other dignitaries were the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, Chairman of health committee, commissioners of health, Past Presidents of NMA as well as captains of industry.
