2019 World Drug Day
Dear distinguished colleagues, today, 26/06/19 is the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Trafficking (also known as the World Drug Day). It is observed annually on the 26th of June, since 1989.
The theme of 2019 World Drug Day is “Health for Justice, Justice for Health”. The 2019 theme highlights that Justice and Health are two sides of the same coin when it comes to addressing drug problems. To effectively tackle the global drug problem, an inclusive and accountable institution of criminal justice, health, and social services is required to work hand in hand to provide integrated solutions, in line with the international drug control conventions, human rights obligations, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The President & the entire leadership & members of the Nigerian Medical Association join the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s World Drug Day. Stop Drugs Before Drugs Stop You! Join in the War Against Illicit Drug Use & Trafficking.
