President & NOC of NMA visits Minister of Health
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) ,Dr IAO Ujah FNMA mni (Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology),today led the National Officers Committee (NOC) for a courtesy call on The Minister of Health, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr E Osagie Ehanire.
Present at the courtesy call were the Minister of State and Directors in the Federal Ministry.Also in attendance were members of the National Officers Committee (NOC).
At the courtesy call, the NMA President advocated for Full implementation of the National Health Act , Review of the white paper on the Alh Yayale Ahmed report on inter-professional relationships in the public health sector, Provision of a budget for residency training as enumerated in the residency training act, Increase in the enrollees for the NHIS and ensuring prompt payment for capitation to HMOs, Enforcement of the use of Doctors stamp to combat quackery.
President also thanked the Minister for the efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic and pledged to support.
