WORLD CANCER DAY 2021
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof (Dr) IAO Ujah, FNMA, FNAmed, mni was the Chief Host of the Media Engagement held to mark the 2021 World Cancer Day yesterday.
The Media Engagement, which was a collaboration between the Nigerian Medical Association, the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) and the NMA National Committee on Cancers, chaired by Dr Joseph Ngbea, who is also the Honourable Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Benue state.
The Media Engagement had as its theme; ‘ I am and I will‘ and with the sub-theme, ‘Sustainable financing for cancer control and prevention in Nigeria: 2021 and beyond.’
The epoch-making event which had the Chairman, House Committee on Health Care Services , Hon (Dr) Tanko Yusuf Sununu as the Chairman of the occasion was held at the Main Conference Hall , Valencia Hotel,Wuse 2, Abuja.
Other dignitaries present at the event included; Dr Adamu Al-Hassan Umar, President, Nigerian Cancer Society; Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, Coordinator, AHBN; Dr Abubakar Bello, Consultant Radio-Oncologist, National Hospital, Abuja; Dr Enema Job Amodu, Chairman, NMA, FCT Branch; Dr Fatima Zara Mairami, Chairman NMA Standing Committee on Ethics and Practice; Dr Nankling Lamu, Chairman NMA National Committee on Programs and protocols/ Special Assistant on media to the NMA President and a host of others.
