    NMA MAKES SUBMISSIONS TO STRENGTHEN HEALTH CARE DELIVERY AT SENATE PUBLIC HEARING.


    A delegation of the Nigerian Medical Association(NMA), comprising of the First Vice President, Prof Rasaaq Ayodele Adedayo Secretary General, Dr Philips Uche Ekpe, National Financial Secretary, Dr. Pobe Jauro Degri, Dr. Fatima Zara Mairami, Chairman of an NMA Standing Committee and the Chairman and Secretary of the Adamawa State branch were at the National Assembly earlier on today for a public hearing.

    Others present at the public hearing included the NMA Head of Admin, Mazi Emeka Akpa and NMA Nations Assembly Liaison Officer, Mr. Komolafe Nelson.

    The 3 bills listed for the Public hearing by the Senate Committee on health were:

    1. Federal Medical Centre Establishment bill.
    2. Bill to Amend the Teaching Hospital Act to Modibo Adamawa University Teaching Hospital, Yola,Adamawa State.
    3. Establishment of Specialised National Dermatology Hospital at Garkida.

    At the public hearing, NMA made an oral presentation of her recommendations, which were also submitted in hard copies to the Senate Committee.
