NMA PRESIDENT PAYS COURTESY CALL TO GOVERNOR OF PLATEAU STATE.

The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof (Dr) IAO Ujah FNMA, FNAmed, mni earlier today paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Plateau State and the Chairman of the Northern Governors ‘ Forum, His Excellency, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong.
At the courtesy call, The President appreciated the Governor for being the first Governor in the country to grant the association 2(two) courtesy calls within 4 months during the tenure of the National Officers Committee (NOC).
The President also used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor for the relative peace being enjoyed on the Plateau and for creating a conducive atmosphere for tourists to visit the state, including the hosting of major events.
He particularly thanked the Governor for his support to the association, especially in redeeming his pledge of N10,000,000 ( Ten million naira only) in support of the NMA House within 1(One) week of making the pledge.
Furthermore, the President used the opportunity to intimate the Governor of the activities lined up for the 61st Annual Delegates Meeting and Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and formally invited him as the Special Guest of Honour.
He further called on His Excellency to use his exalted position as the Chairman of the Northern Gocernors Forum to help in proferring solutions to the rising tide of insecurity in the country.
In his response, the Governor thanked the President and indeed NMA for the courtesy call and for finding Jos fit to host the epoch-making event of the association for the first time in the annals of history of the state.
The Governor also thanked the President for the invitation extended to him to attend the NMA ADM/AGC and promised to participate actively in the events lined up in the itinerary.
He further assured the NMA of his continous support towards the successful hosting of the 61st ADM/AGC of the association in the Tin City.
Accompanying the President for the courtesy call were members of the National Officers Committee (NOC), members of the National Executive Council (NEC) and The Chairman and members of the Plateau State branch.
