SYNERGY BETWEEN THE NIGERIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION AND THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF EQUATORIAL GUINEA.
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof (Dr) Innocent A O Ujah FNMA, FNAmed, mni yesterday played host to His Excellency, Mr Francisco Edu Ngua Mangue, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Abuja) at the NMA Secretariat, Abuja.
During the visit , the Ambassador commended the NMA President and National Officers Committee (NOC) for the great leadership provided the association since their election into office.
The visit of the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Nigeria was also in recognition of the strategic role of the Nigerian Medical Association in the health care delivery system in Nigeria,Africa and beyond.
Based on the aforementioned, the Ambassador sought for collaboration between NMA and Equatorial Guinea in the areas of health manpower resource development and support of the country’s health care delivery through the recruitment of Specialist Medical and Dental Practitioners recommended by the association.
Accompanying the Ambassador for the visit were embassy staff namely; Okome Nnang Mirtha and Amali Usman Hauwa.
In his response, the NMA President appreciated the Ambassador for the visit and expressed the desire of the association to collaborate with the government and people of Equatorial Guinea with the aim of improving and strengthening their health systems.
National Officers present at the courtesy visit included the First Vice President; Dr Rasaaq Ayodele Adebayo, The Secretary General; Dr Ekpe Philips Uche, The Deputy Secretary General; Dr Saliu Olugbenga Oseni and the National Publicity Secretary; Dr Aniekeme Aniefiok Uwah JP.
Also on hand to receive the august visitors were the NMA Administrative staff led by Mazi Emeka Akpa.
