PHYSICIANS ‘ WEEK 2021 BEGINS
The National Physicians’ Week 2021 celebrations commenced this morning with a Thanksgiving service at the Insight Bible Church, Nsikak Eduok Avenue, Uyo.
The Thanksgiving service had in attendance the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Dr Martha Udom Emmanuel and other top government officials.
The NMA delegation was led by the National Treasurer; Dr Eric Anazodo who represented the NMA President, Prof(Dr) Innocent A O Ujah FNMA, FNAmed,mni who arrived this afternoon due to flight delays.

Dr Pobe Degri ( National Financial Secretary), Dr Aniekeme Uwah JP ( National Publicity Secretary), Dr Franci Faduyile ( Immediate Past President), Dr Olumuyiwa Odusote(Immediate Past Secretary General), Dr Frank Ebozue ( Chairman, Medical Elders Committee), Dr Benjamin Umezurike ( Chairman, NMA,Ebonyi State branch and Chief of Staff to Mr President), Dr Kefas Zawaya ( Statutory committee Chairman and past Deputy Secretary General), Dr Obelebra Adebiyi( Chairman, National Physicians’ week Committee), Dr Nankling Lamu( Chairman, NMA National Committee on Programmes and Protocols and SA Media to Mr President), Dr Robbinson Ebbi ( Assistant Secretary General, South South Zone) and Dr Chris Enoch( Past Deputy Secretary General, NMA).

The annual event, which has as its theme, ‘Nigeria in the COVID era and beyond: Health Systems strengthening for national security and prosperity,’ begins from the 10th to the 16th of October, 2021.
Highlights of the events lined up for the week will be an opening ceremony that will have as its Chairman/Keynote Speaker; Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR,GCON( President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2010-2015).
The Guest Speaker will be Dr ABC Ojiarkor( CEO, Seplat Oil).
There will also be a 5-day free medical and surgical outreach in Ikot Abasi LGA in partnership with Hensek Integrated Services Limited.
In a release by the Chairman of the LOC / NMA,Akwa Ibom State branch; Dr Ime Sylvester Udoh, Secretary LOC/ NMA, Akwa Ibom State branch, Dr Emmanuel John and the Chairman of the National Physicians’ Week Committee, Dr Obelebra Adebiyi, other events lined up for the week being hosted by NMA, Akwa Ibom State branch include a Young Doctors’ Day and a jumat service.
