NMA FIRST VICE PRESIDENT LEADS DELEGATION TO THE SENATE, NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, FOR PUBLIC HEARING
As part of the robust legislative engagements of the National Officers Committee (NOC) under the leadership of Pro(Dr) Innocent A O Ujah FNMA, FNAmed, mni, the First Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof Rasaaq Ayodele Adebayo on 12th October 2021, led a high powered delegation of NMA to the Senate, National Assembly, Abuja.
The delegation presented the NMA submissions to the Senate and the Public during the One-Day Public/ Hearing by the Senate Committee on Health ( Secondary and Tertiary) on the following three bills :
i. A Bill for an Act to Amend the Orthopedic Hospital Management Board Act CAP No 010,2004 to provide for the establishment of Federal Orthopaedic Hospital,Lafiagi,Kwara State 2021 (SB.660)
ii. Federal Medical Center, Deba,Gombe State (Establishment) Bill 2021 (SB.382)
iii. National Burns and Rehabilitation Center,Ilaro,Ogun State.(Est) Bill 2021(SB.676)
Other members of the NMA delegation were Past President Omede Idris FNMA, * Mr Vincent Uba, NMA Laison Officer National Assembly, and Mr Nelson Komolafe, NMA Laison Officer, MDCN
Also in attendance were: the Chairman, NMA Gombe State; the Secretary, NMA Gombe State; President, Nigeria Orthopaedic Association; and the Secretary, Nigeria Orthopaedic Association, as well as other members of the Association.
