
NATIONAL COUNCIL ON HEALTH ABOLISHES PAYMENT OF BENCH FEES.
After weeks of sustained advocacy by the National Officers Committee (NOC) of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) ably led by our impactful President, Prof (Dr) Innocent A O Ujah FNMA,FNAmed,mni, the National Council on Health (NCH) has abolished all bench fees payable by Resident Doctors accessing training facilities in all Federal and State Tertiary Hospitals in Nigeria.
The resolution was contained in the communique issued at the end of the Federal Ministry of Health Special National Council on Health (NCH) meeting held at Chida International Hotel, Abuja from 30th November to 3rd December, 2021.
It is the hope of Mr President that the implementation of this resolution will go a long way in alleviating the financial burden faced by Residents undergoing various forms of specialist training and also serve as incentive to boost their morale.
Once again, Mr President reassures all our members of his unflinching commitment towards prioritising and improving the welfare of her members.

Does this abolishment include the doctors from the federal ministry and paramilitary who are running residency program on supernumerary basis? If not, it 8s advised to be wholistic.
