NMA PRESIDENT ATTENDS SPONSIO ACADEMICA OF FOREIGN MEDICAL GRADUATES.
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Prof. (Dr.) Innocent AO Ujah, FNMA, FNAmed, mni, earlier today participated in the Swearing-in (Sponsio-Academica) of foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) which held today, at the newly commissioned Auditorium of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Two past Presidents Prof. Mike Ozovehe Ogirima, mni (2016-2018) & Chief (Dr) Edmoson Akpabio (1984-1988); Senator (Dr) Ibrahim Y Oloriegbe & Hon (Dr) Tanko Yusuf Sununu, were also in attendance.
A total of 341 Medical & 16 Dental practitioners were inducted at the colourful ceremony. The President of NMA in a goodwill message charged the inductees to embrace the high ethical standards of the medical profession in discharging their duties. The NMA President also used the occasion to appeal to the political class to stop interfering with the training & assessment examination of the foreign trained Medical Doctors.
Two past Chairmen of Council, Professor SK Gyoh & Chief (Dr) Edmundson Akpabio also attended the induction ceremony.
