The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof. (Dr.) Innocent A.O. Ujah, FNMA, FNAmed, mni paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim A. Kana, mni, today Thursday 28th April 2022 in his office at the Ship House, Ministry of Defence, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
During the visit, the President congratulated the youngest Permanent Secretary on his posting to the Ministry of Defence, stating that it is divine and he is confident in his ability to perform his duties effectively, having set track records in the past.
The Permanent Secretary in his response appreciated Mr President for the visit noting his instrumental fatherly mentorship to him.
He assured of his willingness to put in his best for the good and continuous growth of the Ministry.
Accompanying the President on the courtesy visit were Dr. Fatima Zara Mairami, Chairman, NMA National Committee on Medical Ethics; Dr. Usman Galadima, Chairman, NMA National Committee on Advocacy, Monitoring & Evaluations; and Dr. Nankling Lamu, Chairman, NMA National Committee on Programmes & Protocol/SA(Media) to NMA President.
Recall, it was earlier reported that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim A. Kana, had said that the Federal Government had concluded plans to create a brand new Ministry of Defence, with a view to repositioning the sector. He stated this when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Army Headquarters on Wednesday, in Abuja.
Indeed, the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim A. Kana, mni, as Permanent Secretary, by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, and his posting to the Ministry of Defence is apt and highly commendable.
Dr. Ibrahim A. Kana, mni, is a former National Treasurer (2006-2008) of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), and has set track records in previous responsibilities.
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) wishes one of her finest, Dr. Ibrahim A. Kana, mni God’s guidance and wisdom as he discharges his duties with diligence to continue to make the NMA proud as the youngest Permanent Secretary.
