World Cancer Day 2023: NMA President Speaks.
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association Dr. Uche Ojinmah on Thursday 9th February, 2023 was a Special Guest at a symposium on the 2023 World Cancer Day organised by Project Pink Blue in collaboration with other development partners at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja. The theme of this years event is “Close the Cancer Care Gap”.
Attendance cut accross representatives from the Ministry of Health, Agencies and Parastatals of Government, Nigeria Cancer Society, FCT Administration,NHIA, Medicaid Foundation, Development partners, Civil Society Organisations, International partners etc.
The opening speech was given by Dr. Julie Toredo, Board member and Director of Strategic Partnership, Kings College London.
The President spoke on the topic “What is the role of the NMA in Cancer Research in Nigeria”
The presentations were followed by a panel discussion.
Commitments to join the fight against Cancer and to collaborate in closing the care gap were made by stakeholders.
