Dr. Enabulele, Immediate Past President of WMA Congratulates New NMA Leadership

Following the successful conclusion of the 64th Annual General Conference/Delegates Meeting (AGC/ADM) and elections of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), I wish to most heartily congratulate the newly elected leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association, led by Prof. Bala Mohammed Audu, a distinguished Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare.

As a new chapter begins in NMA’s history, I also wish to extend my warm appreciation to the outgone NMA leadership led by Dr. Uche Rowland Ojinmah, for their steadfast dedication to the association’s growth, and for engineering a smooth transition.

I commend all the candidates who could not make it to the 2024-2026 National Officers Committee (NOC) for demonstrating exemplary spirit of sportsmanship. They should be comforted with the eternal saying that “there is a time and a season for everything under the sun.” I therefore urge them not to grow weary, but to sustain their progressive commitment to the association; for their time and season will surely come someday.

Kudos to the host Cross-Rivers State branch of NMA, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), and all members and delegates who contributed to the success of the 64th AGC/ADM and elections. Their collective efforts ensured the success of the event and paved the way for a brighter future for the NMA.

As the new NMA leadership begins the exercise of their mandate, I urge them to unite all members of the association, and to tackle the pressing challenges facing the medical profession and Nigeria’s healthcare system with urgency and determination. In this progressive endeavour, I assure them of my unflagging constructive support and solidarity.

I urge all members of the Association to support the new NMA leadership.

I am confident that the new leadership has the capacity to resolve existing challenges, and to pilot the association and medical profession to greater heights.

I wish the NMA President, Prof. Bala Mohammed Audu, and other members of the National Officers Committee, a resoundingly successful tenure.
