    OUTCOME OF THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE NATIONAL OFFICERS COMMITTEE OF THE NMA.

    COMMUNICATION TO MEMBERS.

    HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING –

    As the newly elected members of the National Officers Committee (NOC) awaits formal handover scheduled for Monday 20th May 2024, the NOC met on Wednesday 15th May 2024 to set in motion strategies aimed at achieving Agenda for the rebranding the NMA.
    At the inaugural NOC meeting, certain key decisions were taken that include the following:

    1.     NOC consider and approved the constitution of a special committee that will work to develop a framework for achieving One Doctor One Vote in NMA National election. The committee will be chaired by the 1st Vice President and will have membership drawn from the NMA Zones, advocacy groups and other critical stakeholders. The committee will be tasked with organizing zonal town hall meetings to listen to each and every interested member of NMA and come up with a consensus position on the modalities for the realization of One Doctor One Vote. This is in line with the resolve of the NOC under the leadership of Dr Bala Mohammed Audu to rebrand NMA and restore the confidence of all Nigerian Doctors.

    2.     NOC consider and approved the immediate reconstitution of NMA Building Committee to as a matter of priority return to site in line with the promise made by the President to Nigerian Doctors during his campaign engagements.

    3.     NOC consider and approved the reduction of NMA Adhoc committees by 50% in line with the President’s agenda of reducing cost of governance and channeling resources for critical areas such as NMA building and members welfare.

    Earlier before the NOC meeting, Mr. President led members of the NOC and other distinguished members of the association to Abuja Orphanage Home in Karu, Abuja where foodstuffs worth over a million naira were donated as a thanksgiving to acknowledge and appreciate God’s favour and also to commence the activities of the present NOC in the spirit of humanitarian consideration. The foodstuffs and other essential commodities were procured with contributions from members of the NOC.
